It Started With a Ski Trip
How a vacation turned into a decade-plus career.
Meet David
Before travel, I spent twelve years as a structural engineer, a job that took me across North America nearly half of every year. I didn't love the work, but I loved that it gave me the chance to explore.
A trip to Vail changed everything when I met someone who worked in luxury ski travel and saw a place for me in the industry before I saw it myself. That conversation stuck with me. I learned the business, built my first website, and eventually joined SmartFlyer, where I've been ever since.
The community and the partnerships matter to me as much as anything else. The real expertise isn't mastering every destination, it's knowing my clients as well as I know the world. So that's what I focus on now. Building relationships with the people who help make a trip like that happen and getting to know the person I'm planning for.
I love an experiential trip that's hard to plan alone, safari especially, and Europe remains close to my heart, but wherever you want to go, I sell the world.
