Working With a Travel Advisor

I'm full-service, from a single hotel booking to a fully custom itinerary with private aviation, yacht charters, and concierge services. Commercial flights are covered too, SmartFlyer's Air Team provides 24/7 emergency support, so you're never on your own if something goes wrong. Every trip is built around your preferences, down to the smallest detail.
-
My SmartFlyer and Virtuoso partnerships mean real perks at top-tier hotels: room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, resort credit, and more. SmartFlyer is large enough to negotiate excellent rates but small enough that hotels know us personally, so the property is looking out for you before you've even arrived.
-
The fee reflects the time, expertise, and industry access it takes to design a highly personalized trip, not just book flights and hotels. It varies based on how complex your trip is. Full details are on my Planning Fees page.

For hotels, no, you'll get the same rate or better, plus perks you won't find booking on your own. For full-service itineraries, the value goes beyond price: local expertise, behind-the-scenes coordination, and on-the-ground support that save you hours of research, logistics, and troubleshooting. The most valuable luxury is your time.
-
No set minimum. I've planned everything from a long weekend to multi-country itineraries, what matters more is that you value the planning itself, not just the destination. Custom trip planning does start at a $500 fee, which tends to be a good indicator of fit on its own. And if you just need a hotel booked, that's usually complimentary, no minimum at all.
-
Online platforms, and even some credit card travel portals, list the same hotels, but the property often doesn't know you're coming until you check in. Book through me and the hotel has your name, preferences, and arrival time in advance, plus you're prioritized for upgrades and amenities that aren't available through a consumer login. If you'd rather book it yourself, you can still do that through my Virtuoso link and get many of the same perks.
-
Bring me what you've found and we'll refine it together. I'll make sure it's booked through the right channels to unlock the perks, rates, and logistics you wouldn't get on your own, so even if you already know what you want, working with me makes the experience smoother without adding any extra effort on your end.

It depends on how the trip is put together. When I book hotels directly, that line item is straightforward. For some fully custom experiences, safari and certain expedition-style destinations especially, the ground partners I work with price the trip as one packaged experience rather than line by line. That's not about hiding anything: hotel costs generally line up with public rates, and the rest reflects the private nature of the experience (private guides, vehicles, sometimes entire departures) plus a team coordinating it all in real time. If any part of the trip doesn't feel worth it once we're planning, we can adjust, swap, or remove it, it's less about reverse-engineering every line and more about making sure each part earns its place.

Yes. Group travel, room blocks, and multi-family trips are quoted individually based on scope, and we'll talk through the details in advance so everyone's on the same page before anything is booked.
Logistics, Payments & Support
-
Start by completing the trip inquiry form. From there, we'll schedule a consultation to talk through your preferences, budget, and travel style before I begin curating your itinerary.
-
It depends on the complexity of the trip, but most itineraries come together over a few weeks after our initial consultation. More lead time lets me do my best work, though I'm always glad to help when timing is genuinely tight.
-
I quote in local currency to keep pricing accurate and avoid exchange rate swings. Hotels and service providers charge in their own currency, so this prevents unexpected markups or price differences once your card processes the charge.
-
I work as a disclosed agent, booking your trip with independent suppliers, hotels, and other partners, rather than selling those services myself. Paying each one directly keeps your card on file with the company actually providing the service. Aside from my planning fee, you'll usually get a secure payment link I send on their behalf. Those systems typically send a one-time authentication code to the email or phone number on your card, so you'll need to complete the payment yourself, a bit more of a step, but it keeps things transparent and protects you directly.
-
I act as your advocate and work quickly to resolve whatever comes up. My in-country partners are on the ground and know their destinations, so real help is close by, not just a phone number. If you've booked flights through me, SmartFlyer's Air Team offers 24/7 support too, so you're never stuck waiting on hold with an airline.
-
Yes, I provide travel insurance options through Allianz, covering trip cancellations, medical emergencies abroad, lost baggage, and more. You'll get a personalized quote once your initial deposit is made. I'm happy to answer general questions, and Allianz's own team is available for anything specific to your policy.
-
I'm not able to process passports or visas directly, but I point clients to The Passport Experts for fast renewals and applications, along with the guidance on my Resources page for what to check before you go.
-
Your confirmed itinerary comes as a clean, easy-to-reference PDF with everything in one place. It's also available in the SmartFlyer app, where you can check confirmations, logistics, and any updates in real time.

Deposits and payments are, in many cases, nonrefundable, and cancellation or change requests need to be submitted in writing. Any penalties from my suppliers, along with my planning fee for adjusting or rebooking, apply to the payment method on file. This is exactly why travel insurance is worth considering for trips with significant advance investment.
